Activities - Autumn - Gentle hikes |

There are plenty of hikes on offer which are designed for families. They are easy and short, and suitable for those who want to experience the mountains without too much effort. Walk in silence, chatting, whistling, or if you can catch your breath, even singing. You can go almost anywhere on foot and this adds to the great feeling of freedom gained. With these 3 itineraries you can organize a day of gentle hikes (that is, without a backpack but just a day pack with you). All three routes leave directly from our campsite and arrive directly back.
MALGA MONZONI ALPINE FARM ROUTE
Leaving from our campsite, go down to the footbridge. From there you depart bearing left and continue until you reach the Malga al Crocifisso mountain hut. There you leave the main road and take the track branching off to the right which enters the Valle dei Monzoni. Once you have crossed the barrier continue up the partially tarmacked road which passes through the picturesque Val dei Monzoni. After some sharp bends, the track continues at a more moderate gradient following alongside a pretty river gorge, whilst in the distance the dark volcanic ridge of the Monzoni appear. Passing path 640 on the left, which crosses a footbridge and leads to Lagusèl, continue on the main road until you reach a meadow area where the baita Monzoni mountain hut stands high above you on the right. 150m later you will discover the malga Monzoni alpine farm. You can take the same route to return back.

BAITA ALLE CASCATE ROUTE
From the campsite you take the entrance road, (also possible to go by car or mini train), through the Val S. Nicolò until you get to the town of Ciampiè (3km from the campsite) at a height of 1826m. Here the carriageway ends, as it is open to vehicles until around the end of June.
During the rest of the summer period however you can reach the town of Mezzaselva (2km from Ciampiè). From Ciampiè it is a comfortable route of around 40min to reach the Baita alle Cascate mountain hut. Alternatively, departing from Mezzaselva and following the "Dei Russi" road, you can reach the Baita alle Cascate hut by following a route that winds through the forest. You could choose this route for your return, or follow the same route you came along.

MALGA ALOCH ROUTE
Depart from the campsite taking the road which leads to the town of Pozza. After around 500m you will find the dirt road to the Malga Aloch clearly signposted on the left hand side. Go straight on until you reach the Malga from which you can enjoy a spectacular view over Pozza, Vigo and the Roda de Vael. The Malga Aloch is home to animals such as donkeys, turkeys and pigs. Returning, you can take the road alongside the Malga which leads to the town of Pozza and return by way of the main road to the campsite.
