Luigi Pezzei first thought of opening a campsite in around 1975, when temporary camps full of tents sprang up in the Fassa Valley during the two weeks around the August public holiday. He gave the people a place to camp, however this reduced the mountain pasture grazing space for the family's cows. After this, he quickly took the daring step to build a real campsite!
To consider earning a living all year round from travelling tourists who were not yet very well equipped for the winter was a gamble, but the tenacity, passion and commitment that he showed right from the start, and still shows today have raised the campsite's standards of quality and professionalism very high. He was supported and encouraged every step of the way by his parents Angelo and Elisa and by his wife Flora. Now, their three grown-up children, Albert, Christine and Mathias follow in their parents' footsteps. They have the love for this profession and the passion for life and holidays in the open air in their blood. |
